Rating: Nice for Couples
After staying at The Mulia I was quite spoiled and used to more of a resort-vibe, so coming to Hu’u Villas was a bit of a shock. I arrived at midnight, so may not have gotten the full arrival and check in treatment but was well taken care of. After being escorted to my villa, I fell right asleep so didn’t spend that much time here. It was very quiet and villa-esque with a private pool, mini kitchen, and lofted bedroom. If you’re coming here I recommend visiting as a couple or with friends to liven it up. (Avg. price: $285/night)
Hu’u Villas is located in Seminyak, one of the louder and busier areas of Bali. There are tons of shops, clubs, and restaurants, so if you’re looking for more of an atmosphere this could be a good place for you. The villas at Hu’u are very modern and the grounds feel very zen-like. There’s a restaurant and bar in front of the villas and a small room for check-in. Since it’s only villas, the common areas are quite small and most of the action happens in your villa.
I stayed in the one bedroom loft villa here for one night. The rooms come equipped with a tablet and iPod to use, as well as free wi-fi (most hotels have this!). The private pool area sold me as it’s lined with gorgeous greenery and it’s pretty quiet. I wouldn’t recommend staying here alone because it is so quiet in the villa that you might get bored.
There’s room service from the restaurant that you can order to your villa. I only ordered breakfast and it came pretty quick. The fruit salad had some sort of oil on it, maybe a Balinese custom? Not sure, but overall it was ok.
The villa had a small staff that was pretty helpful. Anytime I dialed they were able to assist and in a timely manner.
Since this is a small villa there wasn’t much extra amenities offered, which is why it’s so important to come with a significant other, or friends, when you stay here. Seminyak is quite busy, so if you’re looking for more excitement you can just head to the city center.
