Overall: Recommended, Great Location
I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful Alaya Resort Ubud was. It has such a great vibe that’s somewhere in between laid back and luxurious. The rooms are nice, staff is friendly, and location is very central. If you’re visiting Ubud, this is one of my first picks for hotels. (Avg. price: $150/night)
The Alaya Ubud is located in Ubud (obv!) and it’s in a perfect area right next to Yoga Barn (great yoga spot!) and walking distance to the monkey forest, shops, and organic restaurants. The hotel is relatively new and has very nice quiet grounds with a pool, spa, and yoga area.
The room was perfect for 1-2 people and it has everything you’d need. My room overlooked the pool and it was lovely.
There’s a restaurant in the front of the hotel where breakfast is served, as well as any lunch and dinner you want to order from there. I got the pleasure of having Afternoon Tea at the hotel and found it to be amazing! You can choose from two options, Indonesian or Western. Both come with an assortment of teas and sweet and savory treats.
Very good. No complaints and helpful staff.
The Dala Spa is an authentic Indonesian spa located at the hotel. I didn’t get to try it because of timing, but it looked wonderful and very relaxing. Other than that, there’s yoga and meditation too. I’ll be back with a more in depth review of this one in October!
