It’s not so quick that you fall in love with a new city. At first it’s like a shoe that you’ve got to break in, squeeze in a little here and squeeze in a little there. It takes a few strides in those new shoes until they fit like a glove, if ever. Luckily, Paris for me was one of those cities that took a little breaking in to feel just right. For a day of shopping in one of the most prestigious areas in town, Place Vendôme, I chose an understated, yet elegant look. This peplum top adds a feminine touch and the skirt is my go-to for a sleek effect. The small cross body bag gives this outfit the pop of color it needs, while still retaining its sophistication.
Strolling around Place Vendôme feels like you might as well be on a set of a movie. The luxurious square was originally built to house the equestrian statue of King Louis the 14th. During the French revolution, the statue was destroyed and only later did Napoleon erect the Vendôme Column in the center of the square to commemorate the Battle of Austerlitz. The Vendôme Column is centered around the square’s shops including Chanel, Cartier, Chaumet, Louis Vuitton, and Van Cleef & Arpels’ original boutique. Around the square you’ll also find the stunning and newly renovated Hotel Ritz.
With love from Paris,
