When breakfast is done right it can go from being the most boring, or even nonexistent, meal to the best reason to wake up in the morning. Ever since I can remember I’ve always been excited for breakfast. When I was younger breakfast meant a big bowl of Cocoa Puffs with rice milk (yes, even then I was a mini health nut), and as I got older I shifted towards more whole choices. Now, breakfast typically consists of a fruit or two, a protein, and a carbohydrate or fat. Through experimentation I’ve found that the more balanced the breakfast, the longer I can make it to lunch, the better I feel, and the more energy I have.
Sounds like common sense, right? You would think so, but so many people still skip breakfast. If you’re one of those people (I will never understand your kind), then I have just the treat to get you excited for breakfast. Besides, why wouldn’t you want to get your metabolism moving, fuel up, and start your day on the right foot? Exactly.
Out of pure experimentation I decided to add a drop of Bai’s Ipanema Pomegranate flavor drink into the mix. This could not have been more perfect. Bai gave it just the right amount of sweet without going for a sugary flavored yogurt (or drink!), so don’t leave this step out! Plus, you get to enjoy the pomegranate flavored juice with breakfast. Win-win!
For the yogurt I went for the 0% plain Siggi’s yogurt. Also a must.
- 1 container 0% plain Siggi's yogurt
- 1 bottle Bai, Ipanema Pomegranate flavor
- ½ Pomegranate, seeded
- Handful Nuts or Seeds, your choice
- Scoop the yogurt into a bowl.
- Pour the pomegranate seeds and leftover pomegranate juice into the bowl.
- Drizzle 2 tbsp of Bai over the mixture.
- Sprinkle with your choice of nuts and seeds, and enjoy!
