Big city vibes with an Asian touch, welcome to Hong Kong. The two day layover here felt like two weeks and so much got done. We made a point to practice a hot vinyasa flow class at Pure Yoga and go for a raw veggie lunch at Maya Cafe, all while battling a cold and preparing for a month long adventure. Here goes.
One of our first stops was the farmer’s market. Well, I don’t know if it was much of a farmer’s market or just a regular market in Hong Kong because I saw tons of fruits, veggies, nuts, and the inevitable hanging animals that I wish I could un-see.
For hotel, I recommend The Intercontinental. Service was superb and accommodations were very comfortable. Make sure to get access to the club room for afternoon tea and complimentary evening cocktails.
Our trip wouldn’t be complete without visiting at least one health spot with raw vegan fare that I could smell from a mile away. Maya Cafe is a diamond in the rough featuring some of the best raw zucchini noodles I’ve ever had, and a whole lot of other good stuff. Ask the owner for her special ginger tea for a real treat!
