When I think food blog, I think Deliciously Ella. Ella has inspired me from the very start to build and create a community and collection of whole, real food recipes. Today I’m sharing her interview to help spread the Deliciously Ella message, as well as continue to inspire others to build their own platform for leading happy and healthy lives….
The Inspiration Series continues with today’s interview of an inspiring female entrepreneur in the natural foods space, Elizabeth Stein of Purely Elizabeth. I’m not only in love with her granolas, but I’m also truly inspired by the fact that she started Purely from her own kitchen. Now you can find her granola, cereals, and mixes gracing the shelves of Whole Foods and other big (and small!) stores.
There’s a first time for everything, and today it’s my first Inspiration post!!! I’ll be interviewing influencers in the food, health, and wellness world that inspire myself and others through their whole missions and incredible work every other Friday.
I’m kicking off the Inspiration section with one of my closest friends, soul sisters, and partners in crime — Jordan Younger! Jordan is the blondie behind TheBalancedBlonde and the brilliant gal behind TBVApparel. Knowing Jordan for the past few years has brought so much love, authenticity, and (of course) inspiration……
Running, walking, yoga, boxing, and eating. My workouts consist of a little of all of these things, mixed with rest days and happy indulgences. There was a time when I would run 10 miles, 3x a week training for several different events, which I now couldn’t imagine doing as it was very draining and time consuming. Today my workout routine has a lot more balance, a lot less pressure, and a helluva lot more freedom….
Birthdays are a big deal for me. Some people just aren’t into them, but me? Nope, I bring out the balloons, birthday cakes, party hats, and glitter to celebrate! This year was no exception, especially because it was my BIG 2-1. Yup, I’m legal now and loving it! So what better way to ring it in than celebrating with good friends, great music, and an even better dessert?…
Good vegan restaurants are hard to come by, and when I say hard I’m speaking on behalf of NYC’s standards. If it were up to a non-New Yorker they’d be struck by the fact that we even have choices when it comes to dining animal-free. Although I’m not vegan, I do appreciate a good vegan meal from time to time and have spent enough time in New York to set apart the good from the bad….
I don’t care how perfect someone’s life looks on Instagram or how organized their Pinterest boards are, we all get stressed. And while some of us feel it more than others, it’s important to know how to cope with it in a healthy and mindful manner so that on the days that nothing’s going right, you don’t blow up on your parents/boyfriend/husband. Thank me later!…
I thought it’d be interesting to share the macrobiotic approach and diet with you, plus details on where you can find the best macro plate in New York City. I was inspired to write this after having ordered about a million and one times from my neighborhood spot, and wanting to learn the meaning behind the delicious food. While I don’t promote extremes or strict diets, I do think that the macrobiotic philosophy is a very whole approach and macrobiotic foods are an incredibly delicious compliment to a balanced lifestyle….
1. Macrobiotic Meals
constituting, relating to, or following a diet of whole pure prepared foods that is based on Taoist principles of the balance of yin and yang.
Miami style. Yes, still. I was supposed to go back home to NYC on Monday, but the “historic” winter storm, Juno kept me safe and sound in the sunny Miami weather. I’m not complaining.
If you’re not familiar with What I Ate Wednesday, it’s a pretty self-explanatory weekly post that I like to do to showcase what a yogi and studying Registered Dietitian eats in a day. It’ll vary from Wednesday to Wednesday, but I try to include as much of my day as I can to inspire you with new and realistic meal ideas….
