There are so many things I could say about Villa Sungai, like how it’s wedged in a true jungle or how the service is impeccable. This 3 bedroom, 4 bath house has a full pool, kitchenette, 2 lounging areas, massage room, and a full staff with butler to prepare your meals and take care of anything your heart could desire. This is the kind of trip where you end up staying in your villa most of the time and enjoying everything it has to offer, including the nature, because it’s too beautiful to leave. You can make a full day out of breakfast, lounging, swimming, lunch, spa, more lounging, and dinner. Bring some good friends or your significant other and there’s nothing more than you’ll be able to ask for. In fact, relaxing so much gets exhausting.
Something really special about this villa, which many others don’t offer is meals. Villa Sungai sent me a questionnaire beforehand to help plan our menu in advance, so everything about our stay would be perfect. On our last night here the villa butler, Made, organized a beautiful meal for us set with candles outlining the pool, delicate decorations, and candle lanterns hanging from the trees. The villa also organized for Balinese drum players to play alongside us as we ate. This was something out of a movie, but wait. THE FOOD. The chef at the villa prepared all vegetarian fare for us and it was absolutely delicious.
I named Villa Sungai as the perfect place for couples or friends because of its relaxed nature. You won’t find any partying here, except maybe 15 minutes away in Canggu. This should be more of a relaxation reset kind of trip. Families could also do well here, but coming with a group of friends/couples would be ideal. The living space is large and is sized perfectly for a group of 4-6 people. Ok, so what are you waiting for?
