If I had to sum up The Ranch Malibu in three words: Luxurious, Intense, & Effective.
At first look, you might be intimidated by 5:30 am wake up calls, 4-hour hikes, and a 1400 calorie per day diet. At second look, you might be intrigued. At third look, you’re sold. Or at least that’s how it went down in my book.
The Ranch Malibu has it all if you’re looking for a structured program with real workouts, luxurious accommodations, and delectable vegan cuisine. I visited The Ranch Malibu’s 4.o (4-day) jumpstart program stationed at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, California. If you’re looking for a longer stay, The Ranch Malibu has a separate property tucked away in Malibu housing their 7-day program. The intensity of the two programs are about the same, but at The Ranch Malibu you’ll be tucked away from society with no phone service on property or outside temptations. Staying at the Four Seasons you will walk past the hotel’s restaurants, but chances are you’ll feel so good you won’t even be tempted.
The program includes daily massages and daily circuit training, core, and yoga classes. As for the food, Chef Meredith is absolutely incredible. Each meal was better than the next. Think homemade granola with almond milk and berries for breakfast, mason jar lentil salad with a lemon tahini dressing for lunch, and vegan zucchini-wrapped enchiladas with avocado-cashew cream drizzle for dinner. As a former vegan, this food wins. At first it’s hard not to feel hungry, since all of your calories have been calculated and accounted for. By days two and three you’ll be feeling so light, you won’t even think about it.

1:30 pm Arrival at Four Seasons

8:30 pm Bed Time (not a joke, you’re exhausted by this time)
Would I come back? Without a doubt. Everything from the service, the guests, and the regimen was better than expected. I’m beyond impressed with the program and the way it was carried out. I highly recommend this program for anyone serious about losing weight or jumpstarting their routine to reach their health goals.
