When I think of Thailand now two things come to mind, beautiful beaches and really good food. Before embarking on this journey I didn’t really know much about Thai food aside from the obvious Pad Thai. I honestly didn’t even know curry was Thai until I touched down in Thailand. I was in for quite a surprise.
This experience at Kata Thai Cooking Class was one to remember. We began with a market tour, tasted some of best fruits of life (think Guava, Mango, and Jackfruit) followed by market street food.
We then made three incredible and authentic dishes: Vegetable Spring Rolls, Green Coconut Curry, and Pad Thai. You’d be very surprised at how much easier these dishes are than they look. It’s all about having the fresh ingredients and combining them properly. Things like lemongrass and galangal are ingredients that an American or other person wouldn’t typically add in to their food, but when cooking Thai food it’s these ingredients that make all the difference.
